US Joint Chiefs Chairman Defends IDF Conduct in Gaza, Ynetnews

The highest-ranking US military officer said on Thursday that Israel went to "extraordinary lengths" to limit civilian casualties in the recent war in Gaza and that the Pentagon had sent a team to see what lessons could be learned from the operation.

Army General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, acknowledged recent reports criticizing civilian deaths during the 50-day Gaza war this year but told an audience in New York he thought the Israel Defense Forces "did what they could" to avoid civilian casualties. (CONTINUED)

Now that the smoke has cleared from the recent Israel/Gaza conflict the truth of what really happened is finally beginning to emerge. Hamas - the terrorist regime which controls Gaza - does not come out of it well.

Two rockets fired by militants in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip on Thursday hit southern Israel as U.S. President Barack Obama was making his first official visit to the country in four years, police said.

“One exploded in the backyard of a house in Sderot, causing damage and the second landed in a field,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP, referring to a town very close to the Gaza border, which was visited by Obama when he last visited as a senator in 2008..........

Israel allowing Turkey to build hospital in Gaza | The Times of Israel

While relations between Jerusalem and Ankara remain strained, approval of supply trucks may lead to improved cooperation

Israel approved the transfer of materials from Turkey to Gaza for the purpose of building a new hospital in a move that Turkish officials acknowledge is a humanitarian step, but not a political one.

The Turkish-Palestine Friendship Hospital should be finished within a year and its inauguration could bring a visit to Gaza by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Hurriyet Daily News reported on Monday.................
