On the evening of the 28th of June at approx 7:15pm, Liberate Tate In protest over BP's sponsorship of the arts performed a "Solemn" oil like spill at the Tates Summer party.

Dressed in black and veiled the performers carrying black buckets with BP logos spewed molasses over the entrance way as onlookers watched in amazement as the Portland stone floor was consumed by the black oil like mess.

Feathers were scattered and filled the air and in the same manner of approach the artists gracefully paced their escape.

On the local level, it often involves extreme forms of pollution for local communities, while regionally oil is frequently associated with greater militarization and conflict. Proper booming layout and maintenance, done the way it is taught in industrial booming schools in America, should have done a lot better job of diverting the masses of oil now inundating the Gulf Coast shorelines. But BP never laid out the boom right and never established the 24/7 maintenance required to keep the booms fucntioning properly.

BP has been criminally negligent in employing booming and should be hammered for it. Proper booming can still be put in place and maintained, since there is no shortage of leaking oil to boom against. Tell the government to get it right!!!
